An Unfair Trade | 1-4yrs Sunday on Thursday

What did we learn?

This week we learned about how Esau was born first so that meant he had the birthright to become the leader of the family. That meant, Jacob would not be the leader. One day, Esau was hunting and came back very hungry. Isaac offered to give him stew if Esau traded him the birthright for it. Esau did! That was not a fair trade, but God knows all things and does all His holy will. We played with kitchen toys to make the stew that Jacob made for Esau. We colored pots of stew. We ended our time celebrating that we can learn to love and obey God in the Bible alone!

Praying through the Catechism

Activity Time

Eating Soup

Cook some soup with your child for one of your meals this week. Talk together about how Isaac used the soup he cooked to get the birthright from Esau. Talk together about how Esau gave up his birthright for a bowl of soup. That was an unfair trade, but God’s plans are always for His glory. God knows all things and does all His holy will.
