Hebrews 8:10, 12 | 5-10yrs Sunday on Thursday

Read It

Hebrews 8:10, 12

10 This is the covenant I will make with them house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people. 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.

Discuss It

What is a covenant? How does God put His laws in our minds and write them on our hearts? What is wickedness? What is sin? How does God forgive our sin? What does it mean that He will remember our sins no more?

Activity Time

Write the word "sin" on a large piece of paper or poster board. As a family, talk together about what each of you thinks that sin is and write those thoughts on the paper. Ask for examples of sinful actions or thoughts. Search through the Bible to find verses and passages about sin and what God thinks of sin. Talk together about why sin deserves the wrath and curse of God. Then, think back to the last few weeks and talk about Jesus who lived a life of obedience and died the painful, shameful death of the cross. Finally, talk together about the Holy Spirit and why the Holy Spirit is our helper.

Worship Tunes

Focusing on the words, rejoice together that Jesus took our sin, bore our shame, rose to life, and defeated the grave. He broke the power of sin and death!
